Carnival Announces Godmother for Horizon

This week Carnival Cruise Line made a big announcement about the Carnival Horizon. Queen Latifah will be the Godmother and will Christen the vessel in New York City. The Crimsoning will happen on May 23 and will be followed by an invitation only gala where she will participate in a Lip Sync Battle. For those who have been on Carnival, you may have seen Lip Sync Battle based on the TV Show.
Carnival horizon is currently under construction in Italy and will soon sail as the 25th ship in the Carnival fleet. Horizon is sister to the Carnival Vista which came out in 2016 and is currently sailing 6 & 8 Night Caribbean itineraries from Miami. Now the vista will leave for Galveston TX in the Fall and Horizon will take its place.
One of the new features on the Horizon will be Guys Brewhouse/Smokehouse. This will join the stapes, Red Frog Rum Bar, the Blue Iguana Café and like the Vista will feature the Havana Bar. The new water feature on the ship will be the Cat in the Hat themed water park. I am sure the kids will be excited about that.
Carnival will build one more Vista Class ship, The Panorama which will sail in 2019 and will be based  in Long Beach on the west coast. Big news for them.
