This week stories from Carnival , Celebrity and Princess Cruise Lines.
Caribbean Princess Returns
This week the Caribbean Princess became the 8th ship in the Princess fleet to return to service since the 18 month pause. Caribbean Princess will sail 7 night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. She will visit popular ports like St. Kitts, St Thomas, Cozumel and of course the cruise lines private destination, Princess Cay.
Carnival Horizon Having Propulsion Issues
This week Carnival announced the cancellation of two sailings on the Carnival Horizon, December 5th & 11th due to propulsion issues. Due to the work needing to be done, the ship will go to Italy for dry dock to make repairs so Carnival is temporarily replacing the Horizon with Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Liberty which are currently not in service.
Carnival is doing this so families do not have to miss their holiday vacations. It's unfortunate these ships are still out of service due to the pause but fortunate Carnival has them to use for this situation.
Celebrity Vaccine Requirement for Kids
Earlier this week, Celebrity Cruise Lines announced they would be requiring kids ages 5 and up to be fully vaccinated to sail. But just yesterday, the cruise line placed that on hold until further notice. Celebrity said they will continue to monitor developments in the vaccine and the virus but for now, the current policy remains. Currently to sail on Celebrity, all passengers 12 and older must be fully vaccinated and all passengers must present a negative covid test taken no more than 2 days prior to sailing. At this time, Disney is the only cruise line with the requirement of all passengers 5 and up be fully vaccinated but they might re evaluate as well. Mike Miller
