Last week Carnival Cruise Line announced the name of its newest and biggest ship as Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras will sail in 2020 from Port Canaveral.
But the news gets bigger this week because now we know what the thrill feature will be, The Bolt Ultimate Sea Coaster. This will be the first roller coaster at sea.
Bolt will feature a 365 degree view from 187 feet above the ocean. You will ride 2 at a time in a motorcycle like vehicle and will able to reach speeds of up to 40 mph. It will begin with a launch up the track and will include a hairpin turn around the iconic funnel also known as the whale tale.
Mardi Gras will be the largest ship in the Carnival fleet at 180 Gross Tons and will be the first in North America powered by (LNG) Liquified Natural Gas. According to Christine Duffy President of Carnival Cruise Line “Mardi Gras will be our most innovative ship ever with some truly special features and attractions, highlighted by BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea,”
Itineraries and pricing will be available in January 2019 so if you are interested, be sure to send me your information and I will make sure to give you the heads up.
