This week Carnival Cruise Line made a couple big announcements about a current ship and a new ship. First, the Carnival Legend, a Spirit Class Ship, will sail some unique itineraries in 2020. This will include a partial Panama Canal transit and a Trans-Atlantic crossing.
  • She will begin on May 3rd with a 15 Day Journeys Cruise where she will visit Grand Turk, Aruba, Cozumel, Limon Costa Rica and Cartagena with a partial Panama Canal Transit.
  • Then from May 16th through the 25 she will make New York home with 9 Day Caribbean Sailings.
  • One June 3rd, she will leave from New York on a 16 Night  Trans-Atlantic Crossing with stops in Greenland, Iceland, Scotland and Ireland and will finish in London on June 16th.
  • While in Europe, she will sail a Norwegian Fjords cruise, a repositioning from London to Barcelona and some Mediterranean Itineraries. Returning from Europe on another 16 Night Crossing to Tampa where she will resume Western Caribbean Itineraries.
For those who are looking for something different from Carnival, this is your chance to experience it.

The other big news was about the brand new Carnival Ship arriving in 2020. On Wheel of Fortune, they announced the new name will be Mardi Gras, a blast from the past. For those not familiar, in 1972, Carnival began cruising with a 27.000 ton ship called the Mardi Gras. This was the first ship in the fleet but was not built by Carnival, rather purchased from another cruise line.
The new Mardi Gras will be 180,000 Gross Tons and will hold over 5000 passengers at double occupancy and over 6000 at capacity. She will also be the first cruise ship in North America powered by (LNG) Liquefied Natural Gas. But the most exciting part for me is the ship will sail from a brand new cruise terminal at Port Canaveral. My favorite port and just a couple hours away.

Great things are happening in cruising so what are you waiting for? For more information send me an email at [email protected] or call or text 904-534-4318.

I have a passion for travel and believe travel is about experiences. Experiences create memories and are the stories we tell to friends and family - even with a little fudging on the facts.
So let me create a vacation you can brag about!
