On January 28th I will board the Carnival Elation for a 5 Night Cruise to the Bahamas from here in Jacksonville. This will be my first time cruising out of Jacksonville so it will be fun to sail under the Dames Point Bridge for the first time.
Although I toured the Elation after the renovation, this will be my first cruise on a Fantasy Class Ship in many years. I am excited to take advantage of all the upgrades and experience the small ship again.
For the 5 night sailing I will be visiting Nassau and Half Moon Cay along with 2 Days at Sea. Although I have been to Nassau multiple times and thought about staying on the ship, I decided I am going to head over to Fort Charlotte. From what I can tell, it is a little bit of a walk from the pier but not too bad. According to the website its a block past Junkanoo Beach which is not far. Anyway, I think this will be an interesting adventure and something I have not done before in Nassau.
This will be my first visit to Half Moon Cay so I am really excited about seeing the island. From reviews, its one of the best private islands. I am not sure what the water temperature or the weather will be like in January so snorkeling might be on the agenda but it will be a wait and see. Being from Florida, it does not take much for the water to be too cold but I may have to do just to say I did. Other than that, I will explore the island including the pirate ship and film as much video and take as many pictures as I can to share with my followers. It will be nice to be in the Caribbean when its not too hot so maybe even a nap on a lounger will be in order.
My Sea Days I will explore the ship and attempt to get a couple workouts in at the ship gym. All of the Carnival ships have outstanding gyms with treadmills and bikes with an ocean view. One additional goal is to win a ship on a stick playing trivia.. Throughout the sea days, they typically will have several games happening so cross your fingers.
A few things I am looking forward to on the Elation include the Serenity area and the lido dining area in the back. One of my favorite views on the ship is the wake in the back. On the Elation, Serenity is situated on the back of the ship and is isolated from other busy areas. The aft lido dining area on the fantasy class ships is awesome. There are 2 wings that jet out in the back with seating so you get an unobstructed view of the ocean or port and a nice breeze.
I look forward to sharing my experience with you when i return. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel for Ship & Cabin Tours, VLOGS and Reviews.

I have a passion for travel and believe travel is about experiences. Experiences create memories and are the stories we tell to friends and family - even with a little fudging on the facts.
