On Tuesday Carnival Cruise Line had exciting news for those of us cruisers here in Jacksonville. The Carnival Ecstasy is being replaced with the Carnival Spirit in March for the restart.
The Carnival Sensation was scheduled to sail from Mobile, AL but instead the Carnival Ecstasy will redeploy to Mobile and due to the uncertainty of Australia, the Carnival Spirit will move to Jacksonville, FL. The switch between the Ecstasy and Sensation will have little impact since they ae the same class ships. The Ecstasy will begin sailing from Mobile on March 5th and the Spirit from Jacksonville on March 7th.
This is exciting for Jacksonville, we have not had a large ship here since 2004 with the Carnival Miracle which happens to be the same class. Spirit is the namesake of her class and was last dry docked in 2021 when they updated accommodations and add the new red, white and blue livery to the hull. The Carnival Spirit has fantastic features including an adult only Serenity Area with a pool, a Lido Pool area with retractable roof plus some Carnival staples like the Red Frog Pub, Guys Burgers, Waterworks and more. She will sail four & five night Bahamas cruises with stops including Nassau and Princess Cay. For more information on Carnival Spirit, reach out to the contact information below. Mike Miller
