Earlier this week, Celebrity CEO Lisa Luttoff-Perlo announce Celebrity cruise line had received approval from the CDC for a restart from the US in June. After 15 months, the time is finally here.
On June 26, 2021, the Celebrity Edge, helmed by the popular Captain Kate McCue, will begin sailing 7 night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale. She will visit Cozumel and Costa Maya in the Western Caribbean and St. Thomas and St Maarten in the Eastern Caribbean.
There will be requirements so its important you are aware. Part of the agreement to start cruising without test cruises is passengers and crew need to be vaccinated. For these sailings, until further notice, all guest 16 years and older and beginning August 1, 12 and older will need to provide proof of vaccination. You will need to have had both doses at least 14 days prior to sailing. In addition, guest will be required to complete a health questionnaire. Additional protocols can be found on the Celebrity Website.
Celebrity Edge is the first in the Edge Series adding features not seen on other ships. The Magic Carpet, a cantilevered platform traversing the side of the ship 13 decks is the first of its kind. The platform can be used as a dining venue, a place to get drinks or even to board tenders to go ashore. Other features include the Roof Top Garden, Adult Only Solarium and The Retreat for suite guest.
The excitement is growing as we get closer to the return to cruising. As Lisa Lutoff-Perlo put it, "Someday is here." Mike Miller

I have a passion for travel and believe travel is about experiences. Experiences create memories and are the stories we tell to friends and family - even with a little fudging on the facts.
