ETIAS Will Be Required For Travel To Europe in 2024

In 2024, you if you intend to travel to Europe you will need to apply for a acquire a European Travel Information and Authorization System or ETIAS for short. This will be required of citizens of the United States and Canada to be granted entry. 

Although the application is not up as of yet, something to put on your to do list. This will be completed on the ETIAS website or on the mobile app and these are the things you will need.

• Credit Card
• Passport Name
• Date of Birth
• Home Address,
• Phone Number 
• Email Address. 
• Some additional questions about previous travel

The cost will be 7 Euro for those ages 18 to 70. All under 18 and over 70 will be free as well as family members of EU Citizens.  The application will take about 4 days but if they need any additional documentation, it could take up to 30 days so plan ahead. 

When you get the email, I would print it and place it with your passport but nothing else will be done. The information will be attached to your passport so those at the airline and customs will be able to see it.
