In the News this week, Carnival Cruise Line, Princess and the CDC. Smoking in the Casino Back in November Carnival Cruise line place a ban on smoking in the Casino. This week they announce the return of smoking but with a few rules. You must be sitting at a table or slot machine activly playing, there is no smoking at the casino bar or when the casino is closed. In addition, a current rule, no smoking anywhere on the ship during refueling. Holland America and Princess Cruises both have bans in place through March 31, 2022 Princess Sails the Mexican Riviera This Summer For the first time, Princess Cruise Line will have a ship sailing the Mexican Riviera over the Summer. She will also sail a seven night California Coast Cruise including an overnight in San Francisco and a 15 and 16 day Hawaiian itinerary. Sapphire Princess is a Medallion Class ship meaning it supports the Medallion technology allowing contactless payment, drink service and hands free unlocking of your door. CDC Reduces Warning Level For Cruising This week the CDC moved the warning level from a four back down to a three. At the four, the CDC was recommending no one cruise at the time due to the Omicran variance. At a level three, they are simply recommending those who are not vaccinated or have compromised immune systems avoid cruising at this time. One thing to remember, this is a recommendation, they are not saying you are unable to cruise, it's still your choice. The Cruise Line Association CLIA calls it "a step in the right direction". Cruise Lines have lead the tourism industry in safety measures and protocols. Implementing vaccine requirements, testing and isolation protocols plus the additional clean ship initiatives. To me cruising is one of the safest ways to travel. Mike Miller |

I have a passion for travel and believe travel is about experiences. Experiences create memories and are the stories we tell to friends and family - even with a little fudging on the facts.
