On Monday, Holland America announced their return to cruising from San Diego and Fort Lauderdale. Two ships will sail from San Diego for itineraries on the Mexican Rivera and Hawaii. And for the Caribbean Season, they will sail four ships including the brand new Rotterdam.
Holland America will begin with the Zuiderdam on September 18th and will sail to the Mexican Riviera, the California Coast, Hawaii and Panama Canal Itineraries. The season will run through April 22, 2022.
The Koningsdam will begin on October 10, 2021 from San Diego CA and sail the Mexican Riviera, California Coast and Hawaii itineraries through April 3, 2022. Some of the features for the San Diego Cruises
For the Caribbean, Holland America will begin with the Nieuw Amsterdam sailing from Fort Lauderdale to the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean. All itineraries are seven nights with the exception of a Holiday Cruise on December 30, 2021 which will be nine nights. Sailings will run through April 7, 2022.
The Rotterdam will make her debut in the Caribbean on November 3, 2021 sailing from Fort Lauderdale on a series of cruises ranging from 3 to 11 nights. The season will run through April 10, 2022. The Eurodam will begin on November 14, 2021 and sail 15 departures including 10,11 and 12 Night Panama Canal Sunfarer cruises featuring partial Panama Canal exploration. These itineraries will sail through April 10, 2022. Finally, the Nieuw Statendam will begin sailing on November 21, 2021 after a full Panama Canal Transit from Seattle. She will sail to the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean through March 27, 2022. All itineraries include a call at Half Moon Cay, Holland America Line’s private Bahamian island. This quintessential sanctuary features the finest beaches in the Caribbean; a natural 700-acre lagoon; incredible two-story villas and private cabanas; delicious dining venues like Lobster Shack; and a variety of fun-filled shore excursions for nature lovers, adventurous travelers and explorers.
Last month, Holland America announced their return to Europe and Alaska.
Europe Holland America will sail the Eurodam in the Mediterranean with a variety of itineraries to include Italy and Greece. Sailings will begin on August 15, 2021 and run through October 30 for the Trans-Atlantic Crossing. Alaska The Nieuw Amsterdam will sail from Seattle, WA starting on July 24, 2021 through October 2, 2021 She will sail Seven Day Alaska Explorer itineraries with calls on Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Sitka and Ketchikan. And what Alaska cruise will be complete without a sailing through Glacier Bay.
All 2021 sailings on Holland America will require guest to have received their final dose of an approved COVID 19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to sailings. Guest will need to provide proof of vaccination. "Holland America Line will continue to monitor the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as local, state and federal officials in the homeports and ports of call. Onboard protocols and vaccination requirements will be adjusted as necessary. Shipboard crew vaccinations will also be in accordance with CDC guidelines."
As we get closer to the return to sailing, vaccine requirements, protocols and procedures will continue to evolve. It will be important to work with the cruise line or your agent, like me, to make sure you are up to date.
