Holland America debuted their third Pinnacle Class ship, the Rotterdam sailing from Amsterdam. She will sail a 14 night cruise to Fort Lauderdale where she will spend the winter sailing the Caribbean.
Interesting tidbits about the ship. She is the 11th in the fleet and the seventh to be named Rotterdam. Rotterdam was actually the first ship Holland America sailed in 1873 was named Rotterdam, a much smaller vessel. This newest version of Rotterdam was intended to be named Rynadam, another name used before but they made the decision last summer to name her Rotterdam. All of the Holland America ships have Dutch names because where Holland American first began., As per tradition, she was christened by Dutch Royalty naming Princess Margriet of the Netherlands as her Godmother.
Rotterdam will hold approximately 2,668 guest and will feature signature venues to Holland America like BB Kings Blues Club, Billboard Onboard, BBC Earth in Concern and more. Plus the food at Pinnacle Grill, Club Hal and the service you expect from Holland America.
Rotterdam will spend the winter in the Caribbean from November through April sailing 7-15 Night Eastern Western and Southern Caribbean itineraries. Then for the summer, she will sail from Amsterdam on Northern Europe and Baltic itineraries. For more information about the Rotterdam or other cruise options, I can be reached at the info below.
