Jamaica Travel Restrictions

Although cruising is on hold right now due to COVID 19, there are resort destinations which are open. Jamaica was one of the first but if you want to travel to Jamaica, you will need to know what the restrictions are. 

State Department
I would not be doing my job if I did not advise you the stance of the US Department of State. They are reccomending US Citizes do not travel to Jamaica and really anywhere for that matter due to the COVID 19 epidemic. But if you decide to go, they suggest and in most cases will be required, you take the precautions.

• Test prior to departure. 
• Wearing a mask when traveling
• Social Distancing 
• Washing your hands

​Of course all of this is part of travel these days anyway, at least when you leave the country. 

Here are protocols you will need to follow if you would like to vacation in beautiful Jamaica. 

• Testing. You will need to have a negative COVID 19 Test performed no more than 10 days prior to arrival in Jamaica. This applies to passenger 12 years and older. The test can be either PCR or Antigun 
• Documentation. You will need to complete a Travel Authorization and present this electronically to your airline prior at check in for your flight to Jamaica. 
• Per the CDC, prior to return, you must have a negative COVID 19 test no more than 72 hours prior to your arrive back in the US. 
• Mask and Social distancing in public areas are enforced. 

Sounds like a lot but Jamaica has worked hard to allow guest to visit their country.  They have created two "Resiliant Corridors" that stretch along the countries Northern Coast. This is primarily a tourist area and include Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios which will allow you to enjoy the resort area with little worry.

Of course when you are ready to look at travel, we will review the restrictions and requirements with you so you are comfortable with the choices. And remember these restrictions can change at any point.
