Luxury line Crystal Cruises announced they will be sailing the Crystal Serenity in the Bahamas. She will sail 16 Seven Night Roundtrip cruises from Nassau. This will be one of the first chances for those in North America to cruise since the shutdown due to COVID.
The hope is this will give a much needed boost to the economy of the Bahamas. Places like Nassau depend heavily on cruise ship passengers and have been without for over a year now.
Itineraries will include stops at San Salvador Island, Great Exuma, Harbor Island and Long Island near the Topic of Cancer. Of course final confirmation of stops is still in the final stages so they are subject to change. Sailings from Bimini have also been mentioned but no information is available as of yet.
Crystal was the first major cruise line to announce they will require passengers to be vaccinated at least 14 days prior to departure. They will sail at reduced capacity allowing guest to have much more room to spread out. What we do not know, is what requirements the Bahamas will have in place at that time since you must fly in to cruise. Currently they are requiring testing prior to arrival. Sailings open March 18, 2021 and pre and post hotel packages are available. Mike Miller
