After almost a full year of cruises not sailing, we are getting closer to sailing again. But during this shut down, the cruise lines never stopped working and will debut several ships in 2021 but I wanted to talk about 6 of what I believe are the most anticipated.
Holland America – MS RotterdamThe third in the Pinnacle Class of ships from Holland America, she will feature music venues like BB Kings Blues Club, The Rolling Stone Rock Room, Lincoln Center Stage and The World Stage. The World Stage sounds amazing with these huge screens that circle the theatre and show video to go along with the music. Another event will the BBC Earth where they will take music from a live band and coordinate it with film of the oceans, Alaska and other natural wonders. Rotterdam will debut in Europe in August, Knock on wood, we will see. Royal Caribbean - Odyssey of the Seas
Next up is Odyssey of the Seas, the first Quantum class ship to sail from Florida. She was intended to sail in November 2020 but will now debut In March when Royal Returns to cruising. Odyssey will feature Quantum class activities like the Rip Cord by IFly which is a skydiving simulator, the SeaPlex where they will offer roller skating, basketball and even bumper cars. One of the signatures of Quantum class is the North Star that rises up 300 feet above sea level and gives 360 degree amazing views. That will be awesome in the Caribbean.
Odyssey will sail 6 & 8 Night itineraries to the Bahamas, Eastern and Southern Caribbean from Port Everglades. Celebrity - Celebrity Apex
Apex is the second in the Edge Series of ships from Celebrity. She will feature the Rooftop Garden where there is space to spread out and enjoy the sea air plus the iconic Magic Carpet Ride. If you have seen the Edge, the Magic Carpet is the big orange structure off the side of the ship. It will move up and down the ship depending on the current use. And uses include a bar, restaurant and even a place to board tenders. Its all outside so you get to enjoy the sea air and have an amazing ocean view.
Now Apex was scheduled to debut in 2020 so she will start sailing in March when Celebrity returns to service sailing from Ft. Lauderdale. Princess Cruise Line - Enchanted Princess & Discovery Princess
Enchanted Princess will be the 5th in the Royal Class ships from Princess. She was supposed to debut at the end of 2020 but will now start service in April 2021
Like the other Royal Class ships you will be greeted by the beautiful Piazza but will have a few new features. There will be a change in Alfredo's to Gigi's and will now offer Al Fresco Dining. She will feature Royal class staples like Princess Live The Sanctuary and Retreat Pool and will also bring back Crooners. I loved Crooners Bar on the Regal Princess and it was absent on the Sky so glad to see it back on Enchanted New for 2021, the Discovery Princess will be the 6th and final in the Royal Class of ships from Princess. She will set sail in November 2021 with the features of the Royal Class ships. Not really anything new here, just bight shiny new ship. Carnival - Mardi Gras
One of the most anticipated ships for 2021 will be Mardi Gras from Carnival Now she was scheduled for 2020 but like a lot of ships was delayed.
Mardi Gras will be a little bit if a departure from what you are used to with Carnival She will be the biggest in the fleet at around 180,000 gross tons and be the first in North America to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas. She will be split up into zones, Grand Central, Summer Landing, The French Quarter, La Piaza, Lido and the Ultimate Playground. Grand Central will feature the newly designed atrium with windows rising 3 or 4 decks with ocean views. The French Quarter will feature the brand new Emeril’s Bistro from Emeril Lagasse. And the Ultimate playground will feature sports and of course Bolt, the first roller coaster at sea. More pictures. She will also offer new cabin types like Junior Cove Balconies and Excel Suites. I am really looking forward to sailing on Mardi Gras. I do have group space on the September 18, 2021 sailing to the Western Caribbean so if you are interested, I can be reached at [email protected].
So there s a lot of excitement for these new ships in 2021 and beyond. For more information on these ships, drop me a line at the contact info below.
