Norwegian announced yesterday they are moving the Joy to the United States leaving the China market. The Joy was originally built for the China market with offerings catering to the culture. They even had Joy written on the hull in Chinese.
The Norwegian Joy will join its sister ship, the Bliss, in Alaska for the 2019 season. After that, will sail from Long Beach to the Mexican Riviera. They will join Carnival with their brand new Panorama as more ships are sailing to the Mexican Riviera. NCL will continue to sail in Aisia, just on a seasonal basis. The Jade will sail itineraries in Southeast Asia from Singapore and Hong Kong. Other ship movements include the Pearl, to make room for Joy, will not sail Alaska in 2019 rather European itineraries.
