On Wednesday, Princess Cruise Line made an announcement regarding their sailings from Southampton. They have now cancelled all sailings on Sky, Regal and Island Princess departing Southampton through September 25, 2021.
This comes after the UK Prime Minister announced the UKs roadmap to ease restrictions. Princess will offer short cruises for UK citizens in late summer and will go on sale soon.
Cancelled passengers are being moved to matched sailings in 2022 with a protection on the pricing and promotions they currently have. If no sailing is available, they will receive a refundable Future Cruise Credit.
Unfortunately this will likely not be the only cancellations for the UK and likely some for Europe sailings as well. But I am encouraged that cruises are happening on Costa and MSC in Europe, although for specific counties, it shows they we are getting close to normal.
On that note, I do encourage you if Europe is a destination you are interested in, look at 2022 because the pent up demand will cause sailings to fill up fast. Most travelers are like myself, ready to get back to it. Freedom to Roam Travel
