Drink packages have become a staple for most cruise lines. Allowing you to pay a set amount up front and have for the most part, unlimited drinks. With Carnival and NCL, they require if one person in the cabin buys the package, then everyone 21 and up in the cabin must purchase it.
Royal Caribbean on the other hand has allowed just one passenger in the cabin to purchase the package. Well, as expected, t was taken advantage of through sharing the package with others in the cabin. Over a 12-week time frame on the Harmony of the Seas, they will test the Carnival and NCL way by making it mandatory if one person in the cabin purchases the package, then everyone in the cabin 21 and up will have to as well.
On Royal Caribbean, the package allows for unlimited beer, wine and cocktails up to a price of $12.00 apiece. The cost for the package is $55.00 per day per person plus gratuities.
As far as whether to purchase a drink package, you have to consider a couple of things. The itinerary and how many drinks are you going to have. The more ports you are visiting, you are likley to be on the ship less and then drink less.
No worries though, when you call me for your next cruise vacation, we will work out the best option for you.
