Embarkation day is the best day ever. The excitement is building and you just want to get on board. Personally, I just can’t wait to get there. Here are 9 sure fire tips to make your embarkation day better.
If you can, get there the day before the cruise. This allows for any delays and can avoid you missing the ship.
Make sure you have a luggage tag on all pieces of luggage. Even the ones you are carrying onboard with you. They have your cabin number on them so if you leave it somewhere, it can be returned.
`Arrive at the port early. Usually the parking lots and terminal are open to boarding passengers by around 11 AM depending on the port. Now ports like Port Canaveral have check in times and you will select your time. So, try to arrive around that time because they will not let you check in early.
I always take change, keys, my phone and other items out of my pockets and place them in my bag. This way, going through security is faster. And for me, the faster I get through security the faster I get onboard.
After check in, you will be called usually by number. Make sure to be paying attention.
After you get onboard go see if your room is ready. Depending on the port and itinerary, most of the time the cabins are ready by 1:30 but I always check anyway. Keep in mind, sometimes the fire doors at the hallway entrances are closed, don’t open them because they are not done with the cabins. They will yell at you.
Take a tour of the ship and find out where everything is. Especially the food. This will make your vacation more enjoyable because you won’t spend your time trying to find the ice-cream.

Most importantly have fun. Your vacation has begun and it’s time to leave reality behind.
