Do some research on some topics of your destination prior to leaving for your vacation. These are ways you can make it more enjoyable.
Customs and Laws
Learn some of the customs and laws you might encounter in your destination. An example might be that on islands like Jamaica, Barbados and other Caribbean Islands, you are not allowed to wear camouflage. Knowing these can keep you out of trouble with the locals. History One of the things I have started to do recently is read up on the history of a destination. You might be going to San Juan, Puerto Rico and visiting the Catillo De San Cristóbal which was built by the Spanish and opened in 1783. If you are a fan of history and forts, you will want to make sure you hit this spot. Language In many destinations, English is a second language so you will often find in hotels and airports, someone speaks English. But it does not hurt to know some of the key phrases to get you through the airport, checking into your hotel and getting around town. Knowing how to say bathroom might be important. There apps out there like Duolingo that will have a section on words related to travel. Be sure you share these tips with a friend, they will thank you. Mike Miller

I have a passion for travel and believe travel is about experiences. Experiences create memories and are the stories we tell to friends and family - even with a little fudging on the facts.
