Updates from Carnival and Princess Cruise Lines

Over the past few days, both Carnival and Princess Cruise Lines have announced some cancellations for summer cruises. 

Seeing the Breeze and Vista arriving in Galveston told us some news was coming. This week Carnival announced the cancellation of all sailings in July with the exception of 4 ships. Breeze, Vista, Horizon and Miracle. 
The July restart is as follow. 

• Carnival Vista sailing from Galveston starting on July 3, 2021
• Carnival Breeze from Galveston starting on July 15, 2021
• Carnival Horizon from Miami starting on July 4, 2021. Brand ambassador John Heald will be sailing. 
• Carnival Miracle from Seattle for Alaska (pending approval from  Canadian authorities) starting on July 27

Unlike other cancellations, this one has a more solid restart. At least for 4 of the ships. Cruising is coming back and will be strong. 

Yesterday Princess cruise line announced the cancellation of all several cruises into August. 

• All remaining 2021 European sailings on Enchanted Princess
• California Coastal sailings on Ruby Princess through August 21, 2021
• Caribbean sailings on Caribbean Princess through August 21, 2021.

Princess did not announce any specific ships and sail dates for restart like Carnival but I would expect announcements soon. 

My expectation over the next month or even weeks, we are going to see an increased frequency of announcements surrounding restarts and protocols.  So stay tuned.
